Actually, regardless of whether or not Europeans used to eat brains ritualistically, the reason for the red lipstick is because when white women have been kissed roughly, and they are 'excited', their lips get more reddened. Because of that, red lips on a woman are seen as a sign that she wants sex, therefore that she's 'sexy', and so red lipsticks were created. There are also rumours that it's supposed to make her mouth look like a different part of her anatomy ...?!





When lipsticks were first invented they were pretty toxic though, and only prostitutes used them. The authorities were concerned about the health risks for the clients...!! Well, it's a man's world!





Not sure about the nails, but either it's so that she looks like she's been scratching her man's back to bits in passion, or it's just to match the lips!
I always thought that laughing sickness was more prevalent in African countries.
