Should I trust the girl doing my hair and nails to help me pick out a good color/style?
I'm getting my hair dyed and cut and a manicure on Friday to try to relax after a week of exams. Except I usually just go for the same thing-layered hair with side bangs and a classic dark pink for my nails. I want to do something crazy this time though, so I was going to ask the girl doing my hair/nails to help me pick a good color for my hair and maybe my nails, and ask if she has a good idea for a new hairstyle.
Can I trust her to not make me look stupid on purpose?
All of the people that work there are fashionable, so I think she would know what looks good... =/Should I trust the girl doing my hair and nails to help me pick out a good color/style?

All they can do for you is give you advice. You have a mind of your own and can pick and choose the advice given. As for trusting them, they are messing your hair and nails and if you do not trust them, how can you even go and get it done. Ask what they would think would look cute and if you don't like it tell them. Or if you have an idea of your own, discuss it with them, perhaps they can follow up with what you want and input their opinion.

I think you should do your makeup with like a silver-purple eye shadow on the lid. Then line your eyes with eyeliner and get some pretty lashes that will make your eyes look complete. Then the face real natural with a light bronzer that fits your skin color on top of whatever type of face makeup you use. For the lips you can never go wrong with a gloss! For you nails a french would look nice with that dress. For your hair it depends on how long your hair is? Hopefully that helps you out alittle!

It all depends on your skin tone, hair color and length. I would say less is better w/ that dress. It looks like there is a lot of detail on it. Natural makeup (nude tones, gloss instead of lipstick), I would say hair half up half down (although you may have short hair - or unruly hair lol). I would only wear earrings (chandeliers are nice) and maybe one thin bangle bracelet (if at all). I would go for white gold or silver for those jewelry options.
hmm well it's a beautiful dress for starters. I agree about the previous comments concerning the nails. Hair up in a loose french twist with pieces here and there framing your face. Gentle makeup, nothing too harsh in colour. Muted cool colours. shoes.. silver strappy sandles, med. heel. Nothing too tall or too short, you don't want to catch the taffeta in the back on the heels and tear it.

For your hair do the hump or ust wear it down and curled. They are worth it and really additive. I'm a manicurist myself but would never recommend that if your nails by nature is of good condition. Having a stick on without acrylic is OK but if acrylic is involved, there are bounds to be primer.

If a woman looks like she takes good care of herself (and this does not mean she needs to have an athletic bodytype, or that of a model, or anything like that - personally I find the latter to be decidedly unappealing), that can make all the difference in the world. I moved to Texas about 7 or 8 months ago and I cannot find a nail salon I like! Every time I get my nails done they come out so thick! The salonists always assure me solar nails are better and last longer and can get back fills done etc., and for the first day I like how shiny my nails are but then i realize they feel more like rocks than nails! When i lived in Kentucky I was never unsatisfied with my nails. Is this some new style to have really thick nails or am I just being gyped??? It used to only cost me $20 for white tips that lasted 2 weeks and now Im paying like $30 for these stupid rock nails. Can someone give me advice on this?Are thick acryllic nails the new style or something?

NO. If you like to get your nails done, as i can relate, get the person to cut your nails shorter so you can work with them. This way you don't have to get hair strands stuck in your nails or scratch the persons scalp to hard. But still have your nails look pretty.

yes espically acrylic french tip nails. i see a lot of people lately have zebra on their acrylic with a neon tips. it sounds weird but it looks really cute.
Yeah. I think they look very 'dressed up'! When you are at the salon, you can ask them to put a special coating on that prevents them from turning yellow due to tanning!!!

Fake nails or real ones? What is the style in fingernails now?
I am trying natural nails for awhile. I like the way artificial nails make my fingers look longer and thinner, make your hands look better. But I am tired of the upkeep and expense. So for now, I am really taking care of my nails with a cuticle oil called ';T.I.P.S'; you just put it on natural nails...its almost like an oil. Twice a day. moisturize your hands alot. Sleep with heavy cream and gloves at least 2 or 3 times a week. Use a glass nail file if you can. You will see a difference in 2 or 3 weeks!!!! I wonder this exact same thing. I struggle w/ getting to work on time daily. And even then I still look like crap. I dont know what it is, I just cant get to work on time and look good..... I have several methods to help me:
1. I have my hair cut in a style that is extremely easy to style.
2. I dress in comfortable, simple clothing. If it involves belts, scarves, pantyhose, etc, I just don't buy it.
3. I keep my nails cut short.
4. I don't wear makeup. None. I save so much time by not having to do all the frilly things you mentioned that I have time to sleep a little extra in the morning. I don't need makeup to cover the dark circles under my eyes because I don't have any dark circles.
5. I don't base my self-worth on my appearance.
Mmmm... It can be hard at the beginning, but then you get the hold of it by being practical, of course trying to not loose your super style! I had a permanent to straighten my hair, so I don't have to style it every day, and had a super nice haircut, so that helps too. Simple but nice make up... Easy to iron clothes... and there you go! Oh! and keeping accesories in order, helps you choose the right one everytime without loosing time!!

Basically, the less I need to do in the AM, the better. I can be out the door in 30 minutes, including packing lunch and breakfast. I shower in the evening, and wash my hair (the evening is also when I do my nails), so all I need to do is style it in the AM, which takes about 15 minutes or less. My make-up takes 5 and I make sure my clothes are ironed and ready to go the night before. No sweat..
I take 30 minutes from waking up to out the door. I get out of bed, brush my teeth while tthe shower water runs to get warm. I shower, wash my hair and face, dry off and immediately get dressed (I leave my work clothes out the night before so they are ready to go). Then I do my makeup....poweder, 1 color eyeshadow, liner, mascara, blush and lipstick. I then dry my hair with the straightening styler I have, and put my jewelry on (also set out the night before). If I am really in a hurry, I skip washing and drying my hair for a day, and just touch it up with my styler. I save shaving for evenings and weekends if I can to save time.
With kids, it can be tough. Get up before they do. Set out what you need the day before, after they are alseep. Shower in the evenings, and just do makeup and touch up hair in the am. You could also get a short, low maintenance haircut.

Rounded tips are making a comeback away from the squared tips. I have always kept mine rounded just my preference, and it should be whatever style you enjoy on yourself.
As for colors deeper shades are popular, deep blues, and lavender, along with brownish tones and deeper shades of pink.

First of all, define ';very long,'; as anything more than a half-inch past the tips of your fingers is never in style and is generally considered sort of hoochie-ish. You should file them flat, as they look classy that way, and they're easier to work with, too. Go for either a French manicure or a nice dark red, like a burgundy.

The reverse manicure is ugly and I would tell Ashlee Simpson that too....why would you want to follow a trend of someone who isn't even comfortable with her own looks? Makeup - natural shades would be great. A shimmery browny eyeshadow with a subtle coloured eyeliner would look fantastic.
Jewlery - no necklaces because the top is heavily decorated so just a pair of stud earrings would be fine.
Nails - a light shimmery pink would be great or a french manicure which always looks good.
Lense colour - I LOVE the eye colours but for this outfit, I think brown would be better.

Are fake nails out of style?
Generally speaking, I like my natural nails but the polish chips off quickly and they end up looking bad if I don't stay on top of them constantly. The color is of a personal choice, but best are ones that compliment your skin tones and attire at the moment. You don't want bright flashy green nails to go with bright blue dress, or well ... you get the idea. As far as sparkles go, I think sparkles are great, but depending on the color, some sparkle/glitter polishes are best for going out, new year's eve, holidays, birthdays, etc. as they are too bright for office wear, but they're fabulous in my opinion - such as OPI Shimmer, OPI Happy Anniversary, OPI Stars In My Eyes, etc. The dark colors that are shimmery or have fine sparkles, like OPI Ink, OPI My Private Jet, OPI Midnight In Moscow and there are some dark green polishes with shimmer, I think can be worn to the office or going out and usually look very rich and elegant. Is black nail polish in style?
I keep seeing the stars in mags with this dark nail polish (looks black) and seeing people out and about with black nail polish on hands and toes; it looks black but maybe a dark plum. Everyone is wearing it not just goth peeps. I guess its in style? Is it black or dark plum. Just curious.

It's still in style. I love wearing black polish. But, I do think it's a little ridiculous when girls wear all pink and are the epitome of girly girls and they are wearing black polish. It's more of an edgy-thing, not prissy. Cause think about it, about a year or so ago, no one wore black polish except for rockers. Now it's all popular and almost every girl wears it. You still gotta think of where it originated from. I know it's just nail polish, but no one besides rockers or goths would be caught DEAD in black nail polish a year or so ago. So if you're a super girly-girl, just stick with your hot pink and red nails.Is black nail polish in style?

Anyway, no, it looks quite horrible. But wear it if you want. I tried to wear it and it looks horrible and I bought a few different brands (from cheap to expensive) and all of them were a weird consistancy which was no good. I think it may have something to do with the fact that to get a white colour that will be bold is not easy, compared to an actual tint or colour.
Wear it if you want though. Nail polish is usually only 'in style' for like a month though. By the time you realise multiple celebs are all wearing it, it's too late.
It can look good, i;ve seen Brooke Hogan wear it. You would have to get a really good brand like Chanel etc. My sister bought a cheaper one and wore it and it looked like she had just used tip ex! It looks like a nude/peachish color retaining a tab bit of the nail's natural hues but is EXTREMELY /VERY SHINYYYYYYYYYYY as it reflects of light a lot. It's very flattering especially for work or conservative settings. It's not even the understandable shiny that nice nail salons leave on ur finger nails but a type of shiny that seems to be the signature of this type of nail color. I've seen it on many women and seems to be quite popular. It obviously looks like something you'd have to get done from a nail salon. Does anybody know what I'm referring to here? I'd love to know the name of this so I explain it to a beautician ----I'd love to get it done. im a nail tech in sydney,there are a few types of polish that could be what you are describing,,,,there is a polish that is sheer reflects pinkish shades , u can even see the nail under it in certain lights ...there is an OPI colour that does that ....or there is a colour by CREATIVE that does the same . ...its not the colour that makes it shiny its the quality of the top coat that is used..there is a great top coat called 'out the door' ...drys quick and dries shiny :)
